Highly acclaimed Ukrainian singer Inna Kovtun has teamed up with guitarist/composer/producer Jon Durant for a new EP of unique crossover folk rock songs. At the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Kovtun and her daughter relocated to Durant’s home in Portland, OR and she has since become a vital part of the Ukrainian community there. She has also conducted workshops in traditional Ukrainian folk singing on line and in person around the country, including events in New York, New Orleans, San Francisco, Seattle and her new home in Portland.
Guest musicians include English bassist Colin Edwin on all tracks. Italian keyboardist Fabio Anile created the strings on Kolisanka (Lullaby), and Ashland, OR based Mike Caruso played the vibraphonette on the track. English keyboardist and Brian Eno collaborator Peter Chilvers played the piano and co-composed Always Autumn (vocal version).

Inna Kovtun is a master of music, folklore and ethnography, Ukrainian artist, ethnosinger, musicologist, historian, songwriter, teacher, collector and researcher of ancient traditions and folklore.
She is the musical director and leader of the folk band Rozhanytsia, the deputy general director of the Ukrainian academic municipal brass band, the soloist of the international ethno project “EDK” and the soloist of the ethno-rock band “Astarta”. During her creative activity, she collected over a thousand unique authentic Ukrainian, Moldavian, Bulgarian and Tatar songs, researched the history of the life of the Ukrainian people, traditional rites, dances, fairy tales. She has performed concerts and taught workshops on Ukrainian folklore, ethnosongs, history, traditional dances in many European countries, as well as the Baltic countries, in Georgia, Great Britain, Hong Kong, Turkey, Canada and the United States of America.
